Q. Who Can Join?
A. Any male duly enrolled in the university with a G.P.A. or at least 12 credits can join Phi Mu Alpha. Freshmen males are encouraged to attend events to acquire knowledge about our fraternity; however, it is not until second semester freshmen year that you can join.

Q. Can You Join Other Organizations?
A. Yes, so long as it is not another secret national fraternal society in MUSIC. Pan-Hellenic Fraternities do not fall into this category because they are SOCIAL organizations as do other organizations particularly Honorary Band Fraternities.

Q. Do I Have To Be In The Band To Be In Phi Mu Alpha?
A. No, we are not a band fraternity. The spirit of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia dictates that the opportunity of becoming a Sinfonian be offered to as many men as possible regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, disability or religion, who, through a love for music, can assist in the fulfillment of our fraternity’s Object and ideals either by adopting music as a profession, or by working to advance the cause of music in America.

Q. How Can You Join?
A. There are several approaches --
a. Ask a Phi Mu Alpha Brother on campus or in your dorm or class for more information.
b. Contact the chapter at its office or at one of its events.
c. Ask the Student Activities Office for the name, address, and telephone number of the
Phi Mu Alpha president or the chapter office.
