COAIG Monthly Meeting Minutes
20 September 2004 - 7:00 PM - W.G. Grinders Bexley
The following is the email from Ryan Allen to the Yahoo Listserve:
Greetings all!
Allow me to start by saying that this meeting was VERY
sparsely attended, so much so that it was moved from
Capital U. to the Grinders across the street from it.
We held more of a discussion than a meeting, and
talked about fundraising - now and in the future - and
possible events we could have.
Brothers in attendance:
Ryan Allen
Tony Barbuto
Brian Beickelman
Tom Flood
Sam Selvage
Fundraising Suggestions:
- For a province event (all province events?),
contact a local resaturant and tell them we're
bringing a lot of people. Then have a portion of the
proceeds given to us. Several restaurant chains do
this. We're thinking Spring Fling for this, since it
will be in C-bus.
- Obtain tickets from symphonies (Columbus,
Cincinnati, or others) and raffle them off at province
events.
- Talk to Nationwide Arena about doing concessions
there for a portion of the profits. EPhi did this in
the past. Also, talk with Sodexho, the company that
runs OSU's concessions, to see about getting in at
some sporting events there.
Sam will be obtaining an EIN for our organization and
opening a bank account under it in the near future.
Possible events:
Internally:
Bengals-Browns game
OSU-Michigan game
Alums- and prospectives-only poker game
Paintball
Externally:
Recital near end of school year
Founder's Day ceremony
Founder's Day was discussed at length. We decided to
make the event an Interest Group-sponsored event,
hosted at OSU, that would be open to everyone in the
province. It will begin at 7:00 on Wednesday, October
6. Tim was contacted to secure a location. [I think.
If not: Tim, secure a location ;^)]
We will have a short meeting after the Founder's Day
ceremony if necessary.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday,
October 12, 7:00pm, at Capital University.
Fraternally Yours,
In Phi, Mu, and Alpha,
Ryan Allen
